GIT develops and sells infrared gas imaging products (Sherlock®) that allow for the visualization and
quantification of otherwise invisible and harmful gases that can cause both severe damage to the environment,
and catastrophic explosions at oil, gas, chemical and power plants. GIT’s technology can “see,” detect and
quantify a range of gases, such as explosive volatile organic compounds, greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide,
methane and sulfurhexafluoride. Quantification of greenhouse gases is crucial in light of increasingly rigid
federal, state, local and international regulations including the Kyoto Treaty, The Gas Star Program and the
Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. Sherlock is the only system capable of remote imaging, analysis and
quantification. |
